Into Lyon and a Bucket List Item Accomplished!
We sailed up the Rhône River into Lyon where the Saône and the Rhône connect to form the admirable city of Lyon. We were treated by another wonderfully kind gesture from Dan & Beverly Stephenson to take Nicole and I to dinner at Paul Bocuse, honored as the “Chef of the Century” and founder of the “Bocuse d’Or Culinary Competition” the most prestigious gastric competition in America. As a chef, this was definitely a bucket list item to check off. This restaurant has had a 3-Star Michelin rating for the past 30 years consistently. A true mecca to the Chef Paul Bocuse.
A Truffle Consommé en Croute, created for the President of France decades ago as a culinary tribute. Between the Truffle Consommé’ and the Oeuf a la Neige dessert (Beverly’s favorite) there were just a few other tasty courses. I must say the preparation techniques for every item was perfectly executed. A true night to remember with great food, outstanding wine and fantastic company. Merci beaucoup Dan & Beverly!
After dinner I was of course snooping around the kitchen. Wow what a battery range!
